Insights
featuresHey there! I’m happy to share a new feature I rolled out a few weeks ago: Insights. I’ve been a bit slow to announce it (sorry, changelog readers!), but I’m glad to tell you about it now.
Insights give you a friendly, easy-to-digest snapshot of your site’s performance over the past 7 days, with a sprinkle of historical data for comparison. Think of it as a quick, informal report that highlights what’s going on without overwhelming you with numbers. Here’s what you get:
- Traffic Patterns: See how your visitors are behaving.
- Best Performing Content: Find out what’s resonating most.
- Recommendations: Get a few tailored tips (optional!).
What’s great is that Insights are completely opt-in. You’re in control, and they won’t run unless you say so. Once enabled, they’ll quietly generate in the background around 2:00 AM UTC. Your first report might take a bit, depending on when you flip the switch.
Here’s a peek at what Insights look like:

Want to tweak Insights to suit you? Head to “Personalise Insights” and add a few instructions to adjust the focus. For example, here’s what I use for Tinylytics: “Keep it casual, not too corporate. My site only tracks the homepage since it’s the entry point for my analytics service. Skip heavy recommendations and SEO tips, and ignore ‘/home’.”

Insights are all about giving you a clear, no-fuss overview of your site’s activity. And if you enable them, you’ll get the latest report in your Monday morning site stats email as a bonus.
This feature also got me thinking about adding more trend data across the platform. You might’ve noticed those useful little trend arrows comparing your current data to past performance.

I’m already considering ways to make Insights better, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know. For now, I hope you find this feature useful—let me know how it works for you if you’d like.
Insights is available to paid subscribers — get started by going to your site dashboard and selecting the Insights tab.
